Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kanuu Ricard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian McDunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDunn has chosen Lost In Forever-P.O.D. as his entrance music. Kanuu Ricard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kanuu Ricard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian McDunn!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McDunn counters with a single leg into guard. Ricard didn't expect that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Ricard working for a triangle but McDunn defends it easily.
McDunn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ricard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McDunn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McDunn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ricard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McDunn has managed to get both his arms back between Ricard's legs - danger averted.
McDunn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ricard is trying to control the position but McDunn postures up.

Ian McDunn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
McDunn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ricard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McDunn tries to avoid it but Ricard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McDunn to the ground. McDunn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McDunn lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McDunn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ricard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ricard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McDunn is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ricard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McDunn wants to stand but Ricard is controlling his arm.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McDunn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McDunn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ricard. Ricard circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian McDunn dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McDunn scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McDunn misses with a low kick as Ricard jumps back.

Ricard shoots in for a double leg but McDunn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ricard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McDunn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No luck for Ricard with that takedown attempt.
Ricard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McDunn's waist but McDunn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ricard off to one side.

Ricard has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
McDunn throws a series of punches but Ricard avoids them all with ease.

Ricard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McDunn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McDunn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ricard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McDunn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ricard's guard.

McDunn wants to pass the guard but Ricard is keeping the position.

McDunn might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ricard haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kanuu Ricard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McDunn slaps away a takedown attempt from Ricard, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Ricard or perhaps it was just good defense by McDunn which made him look bad.

Ricard is desperately trying to improve his position but McDunn has a good base and remains in mount.

I would just about give that final round to Ian McDunn.
Well McDunn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Ian McDunn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
