Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Burgundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Galu Li!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li shoots for a takedown but Burgundy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Burgundy throws the left hand but Li avoids the punch easily.
Li looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burgundy is fending him off so far but Li persists. Nope, Burgundy circles away and we're back to standing.
Burgundy leaves Li with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ron Burgundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galu Li.
Li fails with a takedown attempt.
Li tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burgundy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Li somewhat.
Li takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Burgundy lands a slapping body shot.
Li closes this distance looking for a takedown but Burgundy circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Li.
Li looks winded!
Li misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Burgundy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Galu Li has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Burgundy keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Burgundy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Li sprawling to the canvas! Li rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Burgundy finish him?!
Li is rocked!
Burgundy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burgundy throws a shot to the body.
Li is still on wobbly legs! Can Burgundy finish him?
Li tries to get into range but Burgundy steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Li! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Burgundy scores the big KO victory!
