Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bishop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Lurch! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lurch gets caught napping as Bishop dives in and scores a takedown. Lurch manages to retain guard. Bishop is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lurch is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lurch has escaped and now he's on top! Lurch tries to free his leg and advance position but Bishop is retaining full guard. Bishop is looking to stand back up but Lurch counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bishop. Lurch performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Bishop pushes Lurch off looking to stand but Lurch dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lurch stalling.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bishop closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bishop trying to land knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lurch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lurch tries to free his leg and advance position but Bishop is retaining full guard. Lurch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lurch working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Lurch stays in close to Bishop's body and controls the position. Lurch pushing down on Bishop's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Lurch takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bishop trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Lurch manages to pass to mount!
Lurch is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lurch postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bishop looks a forlorn figure.
Lurch controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lurch moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bishop has worked his arm free - good work by Bishop!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lurch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Bishop pushes Lurch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lurch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lurch just content to control the position. Bishop is not content to let Lurch control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Lurch dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lurch gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lurch content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Ethan Lurch has got the better of the ground game so far. Lurch works his foot free and advances to mount. Lurch lands a big elbow. Lurch pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bishop is working to get back to half guard.
Lurch avoids the attempt from Bishop to control. Lurch looking to control and managing it successfully. Lurch is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lurch in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Lurch looking to control and managing it successfully. Lurch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lurch is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bishop can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lurch lands a couple of good shots and Bishop has given up his back, trying to escape the position! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is taking a good look at Bishop as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Lurch!
Bishop trying to control the position but Lurch manages to sink in the hooks. Bishop wants to get back to his feet. Lurch lands a shot to the body. Lurch lands strikes to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lurch is persistently looking for the submission but Bishop is defending it well.
Lurch scoring with big shots to the body. Bishop is looking for a way out. A despairing look towards the ref and the official steps in to stop the fight. Bishop was obviously done but didn't want to tap out.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ethan Lurch!
