Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyell Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommie Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold misses with a looping right.
Gold with a poor takedown
and Gunn moves into the clinch.
A hook to the body from Gunn.
Gunn lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Gunn throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Golds head.
Gold drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gunn pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gunn lands a head shot.
Gold misses with a hook
and Gunn counters by clinching up.
Gold tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gunn just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyell Gold. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gunn is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A short uppercut from Gunn.
Gold is trying to pull guard but Gunn has him pressed against the cage.
Gold drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gunn is pressed up against the cage. Gold has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gunn down to the mat. Gunn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
An inside leg kick lands from Gunn.
Gunn moves into the clinch successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gold jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gunn walks away with a smile on his face. Gold gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gunn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gunn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Gold takes a shot to the head.
Gold has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gunn after a bit of a struggle.
Gunn lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gold backwards.
Gold goes for a takedown attempt but Gunn pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gunn moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Gold goes down! Can Gunn finish him!?
Gold is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gunn arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Gold's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tommie Gunn!
