Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Raban!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aramite Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raban feints and then cracks Wallace's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wallace down.

Raban drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Raban slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Wallace has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Wallace wants to get back to his feet but Raban is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wallace can do anything to dispel that myth.
Raban stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Raban takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

We've been hearing good reports from Raban's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

I would just about give that final round to Aramite Wallace.
