Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spar Box (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spar Box looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Spar Box! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Spiteri! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiteri misses with a combination
and Box counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Box lands a nice shot that snaps Spiteri's head back.
Spiteri misses with a series of wild punches.
Spiteri shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Box napping and manages to drive through into side control! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Spiteri controlling the position from side mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spiteri has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Box is breathing heavily. Spiteri scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Box doesn't seem bothered though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiteri drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spiteri decides to stand back up. Spiteri fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Box to the ground. Spiteri is now in Box's guard. Box can't keep his opponent in guard - Spiteri advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Spiteri content to control rather than advance. Box really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Spiteri's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spiteri gets to his feet - back to striking we go! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Box dodges the punch combination from Spiteri.
Spiteri misses with a wild combination.
Spiteri circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Box to the canvas! Box doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Spiteri keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Spiteri! An out of breath Dave Spiteri thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
