Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vedad Ibisevic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Romano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vedad Ibisevic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samuel Romano!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romano lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Vedad Ibisevic has been cut.
Romano lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ibisevic is rocked!
Romano jabs Ibisevic to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ibisevic doesn't manage to clinch there - Romano circles away.
Ibisevic tries to clinch but Romano is having none of it.
Romano comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ibisevic closes the distance looking to clinch
and Romano counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oh Ibisevic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Romano ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ibisevic seems to have got his legs back now.
Romano sends Ibisevic crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Romano is motioning to the referee to let Ibisevic up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Ibisevic is rocked!
Romano lands with a good body shot.
Oh Ibisevic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ibisevic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Romano paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ibisevic seems to have got his legs back now.
Romano closes the distance and clinches.
Romano drops Ibisevic onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Ibisevic is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Romano takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Romano pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ibisevic circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Romano. Ibisevic falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Romano!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Samuel Romano!
A relieved looking Samuel Romano thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
