Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miikka Kovis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bakayoko Maaluf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miikka Kovis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bakayoko Maaluf!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maaluf tries to clinch up.
Kovis closes the distance and clinches up with Maaluf, looking for a takedown. Kovis pushes Maaluf against the cage but Maaluf circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maaluf has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Maaluf changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kovis tries to avoid it but Maaluf manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kovis to the ground. Kovis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kovis is trying to get an arm triangle but Maaluf is defending well.
Maaluf is not content to let Kovis control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kovis has hold of Maaluf's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Maaluf seems comfortable defending it but Kovis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Maaluf is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Maaluf is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kovis couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Miikka Kovis!
