Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernard Cornwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Franklin Clinton!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cornwell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Clinton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cornwell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clinton pinned against the cage. Clinton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cornwell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Cornwell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Clinton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cornwell is in Clinton's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Clinton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cornwell!

Clinton is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cornwell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cornwell shrugs it off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cornwell tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cornwell regains half guard.

Clinton wants to work for an arm triangle but Cornwell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cornwell wants to improve his position but Clinton is controlling well.

Clinton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cornwell is just riding it out for now. Clinton eventually gives up the hold.
Clinton wants to free his trapped foot but Cornwell is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cornwell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Clinton pulls his head out easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clinton passes to side control.
Cornwell sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Cornwell tries to get to full guard but Clinton has control of the leg.

Cornwell has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Clinton. Oh but Cornwell has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Clinton goes limp - he's gone! Cornwell jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bernard Cornwell!
