Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aljaybar Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aljaybar Samson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Butch Simmons!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Samson misses.
Samson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Simmons will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Simmons throws a head kick but Samson moves out of range.
Samson tries to clinch there but Simmons circles away.
Simmons closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Simmons scores with a couple of short elbows.

Simmons stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Simmons throws a head kick that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Samson darts in looking for a takedown but Simmons gets double underhooks and turns Samson into the cage.
Simmons jumps into guard, dragging Samson to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simmons pulls Samson in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Butch Simmons hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Simmons rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Samson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Samson loads up on a big right hand but Simmons slips the punch.
Simmons shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Samson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Simmons tries for a kimura but Samson is defending well.
Simmons is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Samson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Simmons might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Simmons tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Simmons decides to stand back up.
Simmons has Samson up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Simmons is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Samson to keep the fight standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Simmons wants to get back to striking at distance but Samson won't allow it.
Samson is looking to break free of the clinch but Simmons has double underhooks.
Simmons gets control of Samson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Simmons will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Samson stands and throws Simmons's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Simmons is not content to let Samson control the position.
Simmons is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
We've been hearing that Samson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Simmons is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Samson off and has taken his back!
Simmons lands a shot to the head.
Samson trying to control the action but Simmons just sinks the hooks in.
Simmons patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Simmons is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Samson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Samson for a finish.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Simmons lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Samson.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Butch Simmons dominated that round.
That's time! Samson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Samson misses with a takedown
and Simmons counters with a shoot takedown. Samson fights it but they end up in guard.
Simmons connects with a couple of short punches.
Simmons stands and steps away. Samson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Simmons closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Samson's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Simmons drops back looking for a leg! Samson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Samson manages to kick Simmons off! Simmons jumps back into Samson's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Samson is trying to keep Simmons in close.
Samson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simmons is one step ahead there.
Simmons is in close to Samson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Simmons slips nicely into half guard.
Simmons lands with a punch from half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Samson wants to control but Simmons is keeping busy.
Simmons perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Simmons wants to lay and pray for a moment but Samson keeps working.
Simmons is looking to stall here but Samson recovers full guard.
Simmons scoring with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Simmons content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Samson has locked up a guillotine! Samson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Simmons is holding on here and Samson must be using up a lot of energy. Simmons has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Samson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
