Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Janusz Gawrolek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samir Oheat! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oheat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gawrolek as he jumps to the side. Gawrolek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oheat tries to avoid it but Gawrolek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oheat to the ground. Oheat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gawrolek tries to clinch up. Gawrolek clinches up with Oheat and pushes him back against the cage. Gawrolek landing knees to the body.
Oheat drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gawrolek lands a nice uppercut. Gawrolek successfully pulls guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oheat accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Oheat postures up in Gawrolek's guard and throws a big left but Gawrolek blocks it. Gawrolek is controlling Oheat's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oheat trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gawrolek managing to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Janusz Gawrolek just wasn't active enough. Gawrolek takes the fight into the clinch. Gawrolek unloads a knee to the mid-section. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gawrolek. Gawrolek lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Oheat or not. A left hand lands to the body for Gawrolek.
Oheat looks winded! Gawrolek landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gawrolek scores a nice knee to the body.

Gawrolek gets control of Oheat's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gawrolek will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gawrolek holds on and takes a little breather. Gawrolek has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Oheat has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Nice body punch from Gawrolek - that landed with a thud.

Gawrolek gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Oheat regains guard.
Gawrolek drops back looking for a leg! Oheat is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Oheat manages to kick Gawrolek off! Gawrolek jumps back into Oheat's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gawrolek drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gawrolek jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gawrolek decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Oheat, up you get! Gawrolek has Oheat up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gawrolek is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Gawrolek lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Gawrolek turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gawrolek manages to end up in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oheat is breathing heavily. Gawrolek ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gawrolek no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Oheat postures up in Gawrolek's guard and throws a big left but Gawrolek blocks it. Gawrolek wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Janusz Gawrolek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gawrolek thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Janusz Gawrolek decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
