Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bernard Cornwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romao Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernard Cornwell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Romao Silva! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cornwell circles away quickly and effectively. Cornwell drives through with a takedown into Silva's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Silva is adopting a defensive guard. Cornwell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cornwell looking to pass the guard. Cornwell is stalling in the full guard. Cornwell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. Cornwell wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cornwell tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva decides to pull guard. Cornwell wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Cornwell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Cornwell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silva pulls Cornwell in close to his closed guard and prevents Cornwell from doing any damage or advancing position. Cornwell slips nicely into half guard. Silva wants to control but Cornwell is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cornwell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Silva wants to control but Cornwell is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Romao Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee. Horrible takedown by Cornwell or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad. Silva fails in his attempt to clinch. Cornwell shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cornwell shoots in looking for a takedown but Silva manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cornwell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernard Cornwell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cornwell avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cornwell closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Cornwell pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Silva fails with a takedown attempt. Cornwell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Cornwell persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Silva trying to control here.
Silva keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Cornwell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Cornwell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cornwell trying to control the pace. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Silva trying to hold on to Cornwell's head to control him but Cornwell postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Silva is defending against the submission attempts here by Cornwell.
Cornwell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Cornwell eventually gives up the hold. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva is trying to maintain the position but Cornwell is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Silva counters with a series of strikes. Cornwell will be more careful next time no doubt. Cornwell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Cornwell. A low kick from Cornwell misses enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab. Cornwell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away. Silva tries to clinch but Cornwell is having none of it. Cornwell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cornwell looking for subs off his back but Silva has passed one foot through into half guard.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cornwell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cornwell's head. Cornwell looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Cornwell wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cornwell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cornwell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bernard Cornwell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva trying to control but Cornwell is working from the bottom. Cornwell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Cornwell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there. Cornwell is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cornwell has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Silva doesn't defend quickly enough and Cornwell has managed to lock this one up! Can Silva escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cornwell on a fantastic submission victory.
