Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Machine Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Patterson pinned against the cage. Patterson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Man closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Patterson is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Patterson trying to control from the bottom.
Patterson is trying to get back to full guard.
Patterson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Patterson is in trouble now - Man has advanced to mount!
Patterson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Man has control of Patterson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Patterson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Patterson working to try and regain half guard.
Patterson is just holding on here. Man manages to take his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Patterson tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Patterson finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man prevents Patterson from getting the reversal.
Man tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Patterson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Man is working for a guillotine from mount but Patterson frees his head quite easily.
Man is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Patterson tries to hold on but Man postures up.
Patterson has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Man keeps control of the position as Patterson tries to break free.
Patterson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Man's guard. Nice work there by Patterson.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Man has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Patterson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Man has tightened it up now! Patterson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Machine Man!
