PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thuam Chaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chaka has chosen Heart of a Champion as his entrance music. Thuam Chaka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thuam Chaka!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Chaka fails to land the takedown.
Chaka misses with a takedown attempt
and Cote cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Chaka.
Adam Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thuam Chaka.
Cote lands a leg kick that knocks Chaka off balance momentarily.
Cote throws a body punch but Chaka moves out of range.
Chaka fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cote dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chaka. That did some damage!
A chopping leg kick lands by Cote.
Thuam Chaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chaka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cote as he avoids it easily.

Cote throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Chaka gets tackled into the cage by Cote. Cote maintains the clinch.
Cote lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Thuam Chaka has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Chaka has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Cote.
Cote works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Cote creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Cote lands a left hand that snaps the head of Chaka backwards.
Chaka takes an elbow to the forehead.
Cote lands a shoulder strike.
Cote using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cote throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
A right handed body shot lands from Cote.
Cote stalling in the clinch.
Cote lands a hook that snaps the head of Chaka backwards.
Cote lands with a short shot to the head.
Cote lands a damaging elbow.
Cote's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cote lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Chaka jumps guard but Cote stands there with Chaka around his waist. Chaka gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cote obliges.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

That has opened up Thuam Chaka's cut even more.

Cote throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chakas head.

Cote lands an elbow that stopped Chaka in his tracks for a moment.

Chaka is rocked!

The cut above Thuam Chaka's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Cote cracks Chaka with a nice body shot.
Chaka is still on wobbly legs! Can Cote finish him?
Cote creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Chaka with a big uppercut! Chaka tries to clinch up but Cote pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Chaka to the mat! Chaka covers up and Cote unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
