Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Kotov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes to the cage accompanied by Alab ng Puso-Abra. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez closes the distance and clinches. Kotov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kotov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Velasquez gets a takedown into half guard. Velasquez trying to control the action but Kotov is working from the bottom. Velasquez tries to pass to full mount but Kotov defends it. Velasquez is looking to stall here but Kotov recovers full guard. Kotov keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully.

Kotov throws a right hand that Velasquez ducks under and follows up with a left that Velasquez also avoids with ease. Kotov thuds a left hand into Velasquez's body. Kotov closes the distance and pushes Velasquez back into the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kotov is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Velasquez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Kotov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Velasquez moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kotov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Velasquez defends it nicely. Kotov connects with a looping right hand.
Kotov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Velasquez gets tackled into the cage by Kotov. Kotov maintains the clinch. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kotov walks away with a smile on his face. Velasquez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Kotov throws a nice looking combination but Velasquez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kotov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Velasquez's hands. Velasquez dives in and grabs Kotov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kotov pushes down on Velasquez's head and hops out. Kotov tries to clinch but Velasquez moves out of range. Kotov throws a series of punches but Velasquez avoids them all with ease. Pavel Kotov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kotov throws a one two combo.

Kotov punishes Velasquez's body with a nice straight punch. Velasquez looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Velasquez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kotov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Velasquez is keeping the position for now. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kotov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Cain Velasquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pavel Kotov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Velasquez is looking for a triangle but Kotov pushes his legs off easily.
