Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rosen Strasser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Black! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Black slips under a jab from Strasser. Strasser misses with a few strikes there.
Strasser looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Black looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Black goes for a double leg but Strasser avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Strasser continues to drive forward. Strasser has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Black is trying to keep an underhook but Strasser manages to get the takedown into half guard. Strasser content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Black actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are battling for position here. Black manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strasser got a little sloppy there for a moment and Black has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Strasser has managed to get both his arms back between Black's legs - danger averted. Strasser has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Black to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Strasser is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Black pulls down on the head and he's put Strasser to sleep! This one is all over!
