The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakayawa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nakayawa showed some decent athleticism there.

Briggs dives in and grabs Nakayawa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nakayawa pushes down on Briggs's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nakayawa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Briggs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshin Nakayawa dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nakayawa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Briggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nakayawa somewhat.

Nakayawa lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Briggs down.
Nakayawa lands a nice forearm strike.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nakayawa scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Briggs is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Nakayawa can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
