Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo shoots in but no luck this time. Aldo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rice tries to avoid it but Aldo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rice to the ground. Rice escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Aldo throws a sloppy head kick and Rice moves out of range easily. Rice closes the distance and clinches. Aldo wants to break free but Rice has control.
Rice breaks the clinch.
Rice misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Aldo shoots in for a double leg but Rice sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shelton Rice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Aldo. Rice swats away the attempt to clinch by Aldo. Aldo darts in and clinches Rice up against the cage. Aldo tries to stall but Rice uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Rice is looking for a takedown. Rice breaks from the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aldo. Aldo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Aldo sprawls well. Aldo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rice gets slowly back to his feet. Rice stuffs the takedown. Rice gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rice takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Aldo is trying to pull guard but Rice turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Aldo tries to pull guard but Rice forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Rice has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Aldo after a bit of a struggle. Rice decides to pull guard. Aldo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rice controlling Aldo's posture. Aldo wants to pass the guard but Rice is keeping the position. Aldo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rice, up you get! Rice fails with the takedown. Rice leaves Aldo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rice darts in and clinches Aldo up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rice to keep the fight standing. Rice pushes Aldo back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Rice jumps guard and drags Aldo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Aldo wants to stand but Rice is controlling his posture from full guard. Rice will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rice pulls Aldo in close to his closed guard and prevents Aldo from doing any damage or advancing position. Aldo trying to control but Rice is working from the bottom. Rice has his foot on Aldo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aldo works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aldo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Aldo fails with a takedown attempt. Aldo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Aldo throws a body kick that misses. Aldo shoots for a takedown but Rice saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rice looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Aldo is fending him off so far but Rice persists. Nope, Aldo circles away and we're back to standing. Rice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aldo tries to avoid it but Rice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aldo to the ground. That was a close round but I would say that Shelton Rice will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Aldo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Aldo tries to keep at a distance but Rice has taken the fight into the clinch. Aldo wants to break free but Rice has control.
Rice drops down looking for an ankle pick but Aldo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aldo misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shelton Rice. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aldo stuffs the takedown. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rice. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aldo throws a leg kick but Rice moved away. Aldo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rice but Rice pushes him off and we're back to square one. Aldo shoots in but Rice avoids the takedown attempt easily. Aldo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rice as he jumps to the side.

Rice manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Aldo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rice. Rice is trying hard to land a takedown here. That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rice shoots for a double leg takedown but Aldo sprawls well. He's pushed Rice's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Aldo throws a head kick but Rice moves out of range.
Shelton Rice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rice misses with a body kick. Aldo closes the distance and clinches up with Rice, looking for a takedown. Aldo pushes Rice against the cage but Rice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rice throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aldo's waist but Aldo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rice off to one side. Rice takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Rice misses with a takedown attempt and Aldo counters with a nice kick to the body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aldo lands with a slapping head kick. Aldo throws a combination. Rice tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Aldo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rice avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Aldo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Will he get it? Aldo is fending him off so far but Rice persists. Nope, Aldo circles away and we're back to standing. Aldo swings for the body but Rice moves out of range.
Rice tries to keep at a distance but Aldo has taken the fight into the clinch. Rice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Aldo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Aldo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Aldo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Aldo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rice. Aldo throws out a loose jab but Rice uses good head movement to avoid it. Aldo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rice really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rice circles away from the clinch attempt.
Aldo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shelton Rice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Aldo. Sloppy strikes from Aldo. Those never looked like landing. Aldo wants to clinch up but Rice keeps it at a distance. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Rice. Rice breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aldo dives in for a single leg takedown but Rice sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Rice has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Aldo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rice is defending well against a takedown attempt. Aldo wants to get back to striking at distance but Rice won't allow it.
Aldo tries to score a body lock takedown but Rice shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Rice stalling the fight.
Rice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jose Aldo seems to be getting the better of the standup. Aldo fails with the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rice shoots in for a takedown but Aldo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Aldo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Rice slaps away a takedown attempt from Aldo, before circling back to the center of the mat. Aldo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rice as he avoids it easily. Rice fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Aldo is looking to clinch but Rice is avoiding it.
Rice uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aldo. Sloppy strikes from Rice. Those never looked like landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rice shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Aldo defends it nicely. Aldo misses with a wild combination.
Aldo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rice has closed the distance and engaged Aldo in a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rice being controlled against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Aldo's face as he tries to break the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shelton Rice. I think Rice has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
