Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cleveland Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kestas Igars!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Igars.


It looks like Cleveland Cox has been cut.
Igars throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Igars lands with an overhand left.
Igars throws a hook to the side of Cox's head but Cox sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Cox moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Igars's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Igars wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cox has him pressed against the cage.

Cox pulls guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Igars trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cox's guard.

Cox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Igars can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Igars tries to stand but Cox is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cox has his foot on Igars's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Igars works his way back into a safe position though.

Cox is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Igars presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

You get the feeling that Igars really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That was a close round but I would say that Cleveland Cox will probably get the nod.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Igars checks a leg kick.

Cox manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Igars manages to get himself to full guard.
Cox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Cox lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
