Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Aguirre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitri Zarkonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitri Zarkonov! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguirre throws a low kick but Zarkonov avoids it. Zarkonov misses with a takedown attempt - Aguirre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Aguirre fails to land with a series of punches.
Aguirre fails with the takedown. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zarkonov, as that shot connected.
It looks like Jon Aguirre has been cut. Zarkonov throws a quick inside leg kick. Aguirre fails to land the takedown. Zarkonov feints and then cracks Aguirre's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Aguirre down. Zarkonov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A combination from Aguirre does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aguirre throws a sloppy head kick and Zarkonov moves out of range easily. Zarkonov wants to clinch up but Aguirre keeps it at a distance. Zarkonov shoots in for a takedown but Aguirre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Good leg kick by Zarkonov there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Aguirre shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zarkonov sprawls well. Zarkonov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aguirre gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Aguirre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zarkonov keeps the fight on the outside. Zarkonov fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Aguirre tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zarkonov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aguirre somewhat. Aguirre looks for a takedown but Zarkonov sprawls well. Aguirre is breathing heavily.

Zarkonov connects with a solid leg kick. Aguirre is looking to clinch. A cross from Zarkonov lands. Aguirre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A decent looking body kick lands there for Zarkonov.

Aguirre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zarkonov is fending him off so far but Aguirre persists. Nope, Zarkonov circles away and we're back to standing. Aguirre shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zarkonov pinned against the cage. Zarkonov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Zarkonov delivers a nice body kick. Aguirre on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Zarkonov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Zarkonov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Zarkonov lands with a right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zarkonov lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. That kick from Zarkonov tenderised Aguirre's leg. Aguirre is trying to keep his angry face on. Aguirre closes the distance and clinches up with Zarkonov, looking for a takedown. Aguirre pushes Zarkonov against the cage but Zarkonov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Zarkonov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aguirre's waist but Aguirre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zarkonov off to one side. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zarkonov shoots in looking for a takedown. Aguirre tries to sprawl out of it but Zarkonov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aguirre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Zarkonov avoids the head kick by Aguirre.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zarkonov checks a low kick from Aguirre. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zarkonov walks away with a smile on his face. Aguirre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A frustrated look appears on Aguirre's face as he tries to break the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Aguirre tries to work over Zarkonov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Aguirre dodges an elbow strike from Zarkonov.

Dimitri Zarkonov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jon Aguirre's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Zarkonov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Zarkonov is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Aguirre rather than just go for the knockout. Nice takedown defense from Zarkonov. No joy for Aguirre on that attempt. Aguirre is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Horrible takedown by Zarkonov or perhaps it was just good defense by Aguirre which made him look bad. Aguirre slips a jab and a cross from Zarkonov.

And that's the end of the fight! Dimitri Zarkonov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Zarkonov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
