Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Pressnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brent Squires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dalton Pressnell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brent Squires! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Squires shoots in for a takedown but Pressnell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Squires shoots in but Pressnell avoids the takedown attempt easily. Squires avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Squires gets tackled into the cage by Pressnell. Pressnell maintains the clinch. Squires wants to break free but Pressnell has control.
Pressnell tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pressnell is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Squires gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Squires tries to break the clinch but Pressnell is controlling the position. Squires tries to break free but Pressnell pushes him back against the cage. Pressnell prevents a body shot from Squires. Squires misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Squires tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dalton Pressnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brent Squires. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Pressnell as Squires tries to tie him up. Pressnell putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Squires in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pressnell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Squires's elbow. Pressnell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Squires avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Pressnell tries to pull guard but Squires won't allow it.
Squires wants a takedown.
Pressnell is trying to break free. Squires is trying to push Pressnell away but Pressnell has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Pressnell wants a takedown.

Pressnell manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Squires wants to break free but Pressnell has control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pressnell is looking to take this one to the mat. Squires looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Pressnell jumps guard but Squires turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Pressnell pulls guard effortlessly. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Squires throws a big elbow that misses. Squires trying to control but Pressnell is working from the bottom. Pressnell wants to sweep but no luck. Pressnell trying to keep a closed guard but Squires is proving a slippery customer.
Squires passes Pressnell's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Squires is thwarting Pressnell's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pressnell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Squires is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Pressnell is in trouble now - Squires has advanced to mount! Pressnell wants to control but Squires is having none of it. Squires can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pressnell is looking to escape. Squires in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Squires raining down shots from the mount! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pressnell taking shots to the head.
It looks like Dalton Pressnell has been cut. Pressnell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pressnell is looking to improve his position but Squires isn't that keen on the idea. Squires wants to finish this one by submission but Pressnell is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Squires. Squires looking to control but Pressnell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pressnell really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brent Squires dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dalton Pressnell's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pressnell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Squires swats him away and circles back towards the center. Squires shoots in and drives through. Pressnell sprawls well. Squires throws a head kick but Pressnell moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pressnell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pressnell clinches up with Squires and pushes him back against the cage. Squires tries to pull guard but Pressnell holds him up against the cage and eventually Squires drops back down to his feet.
Squires wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Squires has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pressnell after a bit of a struggle. Dalton Pressnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brent Squires. Squires has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pressnell uses from the top position. Squires controls Pressnell momentarily but Pressnell frees himself. Pressnell throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pressnell tries to free his leg and advance position but Squires is retaining full guard. Squires had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pressnell defends it easily. Pressnell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Squires swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pressnell with a flurry of punches that miss. Squires has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Pressnell doesn't defend quickly enough and Squires has managed to lock this one up! Can Pressnell escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Squires on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Brent Squires!
