Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Rymar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov has chosen PIERSI - Bałkanica as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Rymar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamed Khalidov! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Khalidov does no damage. Rymar misses with a takedown letting Khalidov counter with a right hand. Rymar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Khalidov looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Rymar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rymar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rymar tries to get out of the position. Rymar tries to strike from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khalidov trying to control but Rymar is working from the bottom. Khalidov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rymar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Khalidov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rymar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Khalidov wants to control from the top but Rymar keeps moving.
Mamed Khalidov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Rymar shoots in for a takedown but Khalidov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Rymar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Khalidov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mamed Khalidov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Khalidov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rymar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rymar regains full guard. Nicely done. Rymar looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. That's three minutes gone in the round. Rymar tries to land a sweep but no joy. Khalidov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rymar lands an upkick as Khalidov stands over him. Khalidov lands a couple of elbows. Rymar throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rymar throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Rymar trying to keep a closed guard but Khalidov is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that David Rymar will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rymar shoots for a double leg takedown but Khalidov sprawls well. He's pushed Rymar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Khalidov stalks Rymar and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rymar's face. Rymar staggers backwards, shaken. Rymar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Khalidov swivels and escapes. Rymar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Khalidov counters with a good low kick that Rymar was not able to check. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Rymar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Khalidov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Khalidov lands in his opponent's guard. Khalidov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khalidov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Khalidov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
