34 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankestein Mir! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Takahashi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Socrates' House of Questions in the buildup to the fight. Takahashi blocks a head kick by Mir.
Mir looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mir won't allow Takahashi to get back to his feet. Mir pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mir is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mir is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Takahashi sees it coming and defends easily. Mir is trying to control the action in half guard but Takahashi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Good exchange - Takahashi coming out on top. Frankestein Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takahashi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mir. Some wild striking there from Mir.
Nice body punch from Mir. Takahashi moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A nice combination there by Mir.
This has been an exciting period of action! Takahashi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mir. Mir shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mir was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The strikes coming from Mir are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Takahashi tries to improve position but can't. Takahashi regains half guard. Mir wants to free his trapped foot but Takahashi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Takahashi defends it well. Takahashi manages to get to full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takahashi ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Takahashi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Mir is breathing heavily. Some bone on bone action there as Mir checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Takahashi thows a body kick. Mir tries to catch it but that hurt him. Takahashi tests Mir's chin there with a solid looking shot. Takahashi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mir stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Takahashi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Takahashi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Takahashi throws a right and a left that Mir avoids nicely. Mir looks for the body kick but Takahashi saw that one coming. Mir paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A low kick from Takahashi is predictable there and Mir counters with a one-two to the body. Takahashi takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. A swing and a miss from Takahashi. Mir misses the shot to the body. Mir bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Takahashi delivers a nice body kick. Sloppy strikes from Takahashi. Those never looked like landing. Mir throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Takahashi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mir doesn't seem bothered though. Mir looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Takahashi! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Takahashi prevents Mir from improving position. Takahashi sneaks back into half guard. Mir takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Takahashi motions for Mir to come forward. Takahashi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mir throws a front kick that sends Takahashi stumbling back into the cage. Takahashi avoids a punch combination nicely.

Mir throws a right hand that Takahashi ducks under and follows up with a left that Takahashi also avoids with ease. Mir shoots in but no luck this time. Takahashi feints and then cracks Mir's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mir down. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takahashi scores with a sloppy right hand. Mir should have avoided that one. Takahashi throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Mir lands a glancing blow to the side of Takahashi's head. Mir is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

They are putting on a show! Mir thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mir lands a decent elbow from side control. Takahashi is looking to reverse the position. Mir landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Mir scores with a couple of short elbows. Mir tries to score with some ground and pound. Takahashi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Mir is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Takahashi has escaped the position, nice work there. Frankestein Mir dominated that fourth round. That's time! Takahashi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A clash of legs there as Takahashi blocks the low kick. Both fighters circling a little - Mir finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Takahashi but Takahashi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mir shoots in for a double leg but Takahashi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by Takahashi. Ethelbart Takahashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frankestein Mir. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Takahashi. Mir on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Takahashi. Takahashi obviously looking to wear him down.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takahashi as he avoids it easily. Mir fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Takahashi manages to avoid it. Takahashi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Takahashi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Mir throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mir is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. You can see the frustration on Takahashi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Frankestein Mir is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
