McDonald comes to the cage accompanied by EARTH CRISIS: DESTROY THE MACHINES. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura throws out a powerful jab.
McDonald has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Millions Top Team in the buildup to the fight.

Kimura shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McDonald but McDonald pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McDonald feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kimuras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kimura shoots in looking for a takedown. McDonald tries to sprawl out of it but Kimura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McDonald manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McDonald keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

McDonald tries to work over Kimura's front leg with a kick but Kimura checks it.

and McDonald counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kimura gets cracked there but stands up to it.
