Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Stockdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Stockdale could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ben Stoner's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Stockdale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Stoner! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stoner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Stockdale fails with the takedown. Stoner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stockdale feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stoner holds on and takes a little breather. Stockdale preventing the sweep. Stoner tries to strike from the bottom.

Stockdale stops Stoner from standing up. Stoner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stoner can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stoner has his takedown stuffed so Stockdale counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Stockdale tries to free his leg and advance position but Stoner is retaining full guard. Stoner is pulling down on Stockdale's head to control his posture. Stockdale preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stockdale is looking to stand up but Stoner won't let him. Stoner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stockdale can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stockdale wants to stand but Stoner has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Stoner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stockdale. Stockdaleis looking to pass into half guard but Stoner pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Stoner is in guard. Stoner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Stoner wants to pass the guard but Stockdale is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stoner lands a couple of decent looking shots. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Stoner looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stockdale pulls Stoner in to control the position. Stockdale working for a triangle but Stoner defends it easily.
Stockdale is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Stockdale trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Stockdale throws his legs up looking for a submission but Stoner uses it to pass to side control.
Stoner decides to take the fight back to the feet. Stockdale avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stoner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stoner has a takedown stuffed. Bob Stockdale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Stoner. Stoner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stockdale swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stockdale tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Stoner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stockdale fails to land the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stoner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Stockdale looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stoner misses with a jab, cross combination.

Stockdale has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stoner avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Stoner decides to pull guard. Stoner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Stockdale wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stockdale tries to get to full guard but Stoner has control of the leg. Stoner is keen to just control but Stockdale is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stockdale works his way to full guard. Good work. Stockdale escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stoner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Stockdale controls Stoner momentarily but Stoner frees himself. Stockdale working for a triangle but Stoner defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stoner trying to control the action but Stockdale is working from the bottom. Stockdale wants to get back to his feet.
Stockdale is not content to let Stoner control the position. Stoner perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Stockdale looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stoner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stockdale does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stoner wants to get back to his feet.
Stoner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stockdale with a lazy takedown attempt and Stoner counters with a slapping leg kick. Stoner lands with a straight right. Stockdale didn't see that one coming. Stoner closes the distance and clinches up with Stockdale, looking for a takedown. Stoner pushes Stockdale against the ropes but Stockdale circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stoner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stockdale sprawls well initially but Stoner persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Stoner keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Stockdale wants to control but Stoner is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stockdale is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stoner drops an elbow to the side of Stockdale's head. Stoner trying to control the pace. Stockdale is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stockdale is looking to escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stockdale wants to get back to full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Stockdale shoots in and drives through. Stoner sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Stockdale. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stockdale has his takedown stuffed and Stoner counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Stoner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Stoner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stockdale as he jumps to the side. Stoner throws a head kick that misses so Stockdale counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Stoner is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Stockdale is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stoner pulls him back up using the underhooks. Stockdale prevents the takedown attempt.
Stoner tries to score a body lock takedown but Stockdale shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bob Stockdale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Stoner. Stoner wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Stoner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Stockdale wants a takedown but no success here.

Stockdale throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stoner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stockdale scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
