Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tad Ghostal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ghostal's choice of entrance music: Good King Wenceslas. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adam Gracie! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tad Ghostal! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ghostal moves out of range as Gracie strikes. Gracie throws a hook but Ghostal avoids it easily. Ghostal swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Ghostal misses with a straight right. Ghostal finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Ghostal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tad Ghostal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ghostal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat. A swing and a miss from Gracie. Ghostal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ghostal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Ghostal lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gracie's sensitive parts. Ghostal throws a poor cross that misses
and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gracie avoids the body shot from Ghostal.
Ghostal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ghostal looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away. Nice defenses there by Ghostal. Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ghostal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ghostal throws a hook but Gracie blocks it. Gracie misses with a hook. Ghostal ducked under it nicely. Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ghostal moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off. Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ghostal tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ghostal to the ground. Ghostal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jab, jab by Ghostal - just one landing. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ghostal working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie. Gracie being controlled here momentarily. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ghostal wants to land a leg kick but Gracie is out of range. Ghostal misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gracie.

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ghostal! Gracie working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ghostal is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control. Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gracie throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Ghostal is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it. Ghostal regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gracie's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ghostal controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Adam Gracie will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ghostal.
Gracie catches Ghostal with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Ghostal sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ghostal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie. Ghostal gets full guard. Gracie looking to pass the guard. Ghostal pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Ghostal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ghostal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ghostal working a defensive guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gracie lands a really nice looking cross but Ghostal seems unphased.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ghostal lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A left lands for Gracie. Ghostal avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ghostal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ghostal wants it to stay on the feet. Ghostal tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Ghostal. Gracie lands with an overhand left. Ghostal lands with an overhand left. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Ghostal scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Tad Ghostal seems to be getting the better of the standup. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ghostal fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it. Gracie checks a leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ghostal throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and moves out of range. Ghostal tries to work over Gracie's front leg with a kick but Gracie checks it. Gracie checks a leg kick nicely. Ghostal has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ghostal throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. The crowd cheers as Ghostal lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gracie doesn't seem phased though. Ghostal misses with an uppercut. Gracie looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is working Ghostal over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gracie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Ghostal controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself. Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ghostal is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Adam Gracie will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
A slow jab from Gracie misses its intended target. Ghostal tries to clinch up. Ghostal throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it. Gracie misses with a looping left. Gracie cracks Ghostal with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ghostal's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gracie under the eye. Gracie darts in looking for a takedown but Ghostal gets double underhooks and turns Gracie into the cage. Ghostal lands a body punch in the clinch. Gracie taking a breather. Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ghostal throws a big elbow that misses. Gracie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ghostal. Ghostal stopping the sweep attempt from Gracie. Gracie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ghostal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking for a triangle here. Ghostal is fighting it but it looks tight! Gracie pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ghostal is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Adam Gracie! Adam Gracie retains his featherweight title! A very excited looking Adam Gracie made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
