Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankestein Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Davis Hogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir comes to the cage accompanied by SURF RIDER!!! by The lively ones!. Hogg has chosen Last Ones Standing as his entrance music. Jefferson Davis Hogg has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankestein Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jefferson Davis Hogg!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogg uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mir.
No joy there for Mir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hogg moves out of range as Mir throws a body kick.
Mir moves away from the strike by Hogg.

Mir fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hogg to the ground. Mir is now in Hogg's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mir pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hogg is keeping the position for now.
Hogg wants to sweep here but Mir controlling him for the moment.
Mir tries to free his leg and advance position but Hogg is retaining full guard.
Mir trying to control but Hogg is working from the bottom.
Mir wants to pass the guard but Hogg is keeping the position.
Hogg keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully.
Mir passes Hogg's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Mir works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hogg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Mir connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mir is landing with some decent strikes but Hogg is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hogg tries to hold on but Mir pushes him away.
Mir has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hogg's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mir misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Hogg felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Mir landing strikes from the mount and Hogg is in trouble!
Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mir avoids the attempt from Hogg to control.

Mir goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hogg is on top in guard.
Hogg seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hogg wanted to stand there but Mir had control of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jefferson Davis Hogg has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mir fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hogg manages to avoid it.
Frankestein Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hogg slaps away a takedown attempt from Mir, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mir looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hogg tries to land a body kick
and Mir counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hogg stuffs the takedown.

Mir fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hogg to the ground. Mir is now in Hogg's guard.
Hogg controls Mir momentarily but Mir frees himself.

Mir works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mir thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hogg's head.
Hogg is controlling Mir's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hogg moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mir wants to pass the guard but Hogg is keeping the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mir with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mir advances to half guard.
Hogg manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frankestein Mir dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mir blocks a jab.
Hogg takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hogg doesn't manage to clinch there - Mir circles away.
Mir throws out a powerful jab.
Hogg moves out of range as Mir throws a body kick.
Nice sprawl there from Hogg as Mir shoots in.

Hogg lands a big head kick that sends Mir tumbling to the mat! Hogg takes a step backwards and waves Mir back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Frankestein Mir has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hogg misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mir misses with a body kick.
Mir ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hogg moves away.
Mir lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hogg takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hogg takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Mir throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hogg fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mir misses with a body shot.
Mir tries to work over Hogg's front leg with a kick but Hogg checks it.
Mir ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Mir is looking to wear down Hogg with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Mir has a takedown stuffed.
Hogg takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mir fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankestein Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hogg throws a leg kick but Mir checks it.
Mir throws a sloppy head kick
and Hogg counters with a stiff right hand.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hogg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mir pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Mir closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hogg quickly recovers to half guard.

Hogg is trying to keep Mir in close.
Mir throws an elbow that misses. Hogg uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mir's guard. Nice move by Hogg!
Hogg controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mir tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hogg wants to get up but he can't break Mir's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mir manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hogg manages to get himself to full guard.
Mir is fighting to break Hogg's control of his arms but Hogg is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mir looking to sit in guard and control but Hogg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hogg wants to control from the top but Mir keeps moving.
Mir wants to hit a switch here but Hogg passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mir there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jefferson Davis Hogg will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Frankestein Mir's cut.
That's time! Mir's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Mir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hogg.
Mir shoots in but no luck this time.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mir here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

and Hogg counters with an outside leg kick.

Hogg moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hogg checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Mir tries to bum rush Hogg with a series of wild strikes but Hogg uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mir fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hogg gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mir.
Hogg scores with a knee to the head.
Hogg with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Mir goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hogg looking to throw knees to the head but Mir is blocking nicely.
Mir drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mir moves out of range as Hogg throws a body kick.

Hogg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mir, pushing him back against the cage.
Mir lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Jefferson Davis Hogg has been cut.
Mir tries to throw a body punch but Hogg avoids it by throwing Mir back against the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Mir throws an elbow but misses.
Mir takes a shot to the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hogg.
Mir just leaning against Hogg, taking a breather.
Hogg has Mir pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Mir is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Hogg - that's hurt Mir badly! Oh, another knee lands and Mir is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Mir doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Jefferson Davis Hogg!
Jefferson Davis Hogg decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
