12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Buchanan! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buchanan missing with a left hand there. Kim was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Paul Buchanan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Buchanan throws a poor cross that misses
and Kim counters with a nice double leg into side control. Buchanan won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Buchanan keeps Kim under control for a moment. Kim working away. Kim throwing shots but missing, from side control. Buchanan is trying to improve his position. Kim lands an elbow. Kim is putting a hurting on Buchanan here, landing some big shots from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Buchanan is looking to regain half guard here but Kim keeps moving and retains side control. Kim is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Buchanan looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kim gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Buchanan is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kim lets go of the hold and Buchanan can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roberto Kim! Roberto Kim retains his middleweight title! After winning the bout, Roberto Kim thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
