Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Miyaichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Cota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cota has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryo Miyaichi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Cota! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cota drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Cota seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. It looks like Cota might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Cota wants to pass the guard but Miyaichi is keeping the position. Cota preventing the sweep. Miyaichi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cota on the ground.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mark Cota hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Cota walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cota uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miyaichi.
Cota shoots for a double leg takedown but Miyaichi sprawls well. He's pushed Cota's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cota uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Miyaichi. Miyaichi scores with a punch to the head. Miyaichi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Miyaichi moves out of range as Cota throws a body kick.
Miyaichi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cota. Miyaichi throws a body punch but Cota moves out of range. Cota tries for a takedown but Miyaichi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cota shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Miyaichi pinned against the cage. Miyaichi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ryo Miyaichi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Cota. Miyaichi tries to clinch up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miyaichi wants to clinch. Miyaichi wants to clinch. Cota tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Miyaichi defends well and Cota ends up having to push Miyaichi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Cota wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Cota is working for takedown but Miyaichi is calmly controlling the position for now. Miyaichi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Cota is trying to drag Miyaichi to the mat but Miyaichi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Miyaichi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cota backwards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miyaichi lands a hook to the side of the head. Miyaichi misses with a punch to the body.
Miyaichi scores with an uppercut up the middle. Miyaichi throws a head punch that misses. Miyaichi softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Cota is looking for a takedown. Miyaichi prevents the takedown attempt.
Miyaichi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Cota's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A nice right hand lands inside from Miyaichi. Cota is trying to drag Miyaichi to the mat but Miyaichi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Miyaichi lands a right hand. Cota goes for a takedown in the clinch but Miyaichi prevents it.
Miyaichi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cota backwards. Cota has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Miyaichi regains guard immediately.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miyaichi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cota controls the pace. Miyaichi trying to control the position.
Miyaichi pulls Cota in close to prevent any damage. Cota postures up.
Cota trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyaichi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Miyaichi connects with a crisp jab. Cota looks for a takedown but Miyaichi sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryo Miyaichi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Cota shoots in looking for a takedown but Miyaichi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cota's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Cota tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Miyaichi swivels and escapes. Miyaichi thows a left - swing and a miss! Cota darts in looking for a takedown but Miyaichi gets double underhooks and turns Cota into the cage. Ryo Miyaichi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Cota. Cota has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miyaichi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Miyaichi lands with a right to the head. Cota blocking some punches.
Miyaichi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cota backwards. Miyaichi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Miyaichi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cota backwards. Miyaichi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Cota is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Miyaichi is defending well. Miyaichi is working Cota over against the cage. Cota is breathing heavily. Miyaichi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cota backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Miyaichi works on Cota's body with a couple of short punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cota prevents a body shot from Miyaichi. Cota is trying to break free. Cota prevents a body shot from Miyaichi. Cota wants to break the clinch but can't.
Miyaichi lands a hook to the side of the head. Miyaichi lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Miyaichi lands an uppercut. Miyaichi digs a right hand into Cota's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cota's gas tank. Cota takes a shot to the head.
Cota is rocked! A short right from Miyaichi on the inside. Cota is still on wobbly legs! Can Miyaichi finish him? Miyaichi creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Cota's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Cota drops to his knees and Miyaichi pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryo Miyaichi!
