Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Leites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Casados (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Leites!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Casados!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leites pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Leites fails in his attempt to clinch.
Casados blocks a head kick by Leites.

Leites clinches up against the cage.

Casados breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Leites pushes Casados up against the cage in a clinch.
Leites lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Casados drops down looking for an ankle pick but Leites pulls his leg out and moves away.
Casados displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Leites throws out the jab.
Casados circles away from the clinch attempt.
Leites tries to clinch up.
Leites tries to clinch but Casados moves out of range.

Leites clinches with his opponent.
Leites tries to land a knee to the head but Casados blocks with his arms.

Casados turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Casados lands a decent elbow from side control.
Leites prevents Casados from improving position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leites wants to get back to his feet but Casados drags him back down.

Casados tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Leites is trying to improve his position.

Casados looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Casados just content to control the position.

Casados tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Casados has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Leites manages to get back to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Casados trying to pass the guard but Leites defending well.
Leites tries to roll over but Casados keeps him under control.
Leites gets back to full guard.
Casados postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Casados slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Casados looks gassed!

Casados tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Casados has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Leites tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Casados controlling the position.
Leites tries to escape but Casados is in control.
Leites takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Leites is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Casados in side control lands a decent elbow.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Casados has closed the distance and engaged Leites in a clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Casados tries to pull guard but Leites won't allow it.
Casados tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Leites just stands there and leans against the cage.
Luiz Leites has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Casados.
Leites with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Leites throws an elbow that misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Leites just misses with a elbow thrown towards Casados's brow.

Casados successfully pulls guard.
Casados throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Casados bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leites's guard.
Leites wants to stand but Casados is controlling the position.
Casados trying to control the position from guard on top but Leites is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Casados has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Casados is stalling in the full guard.
Leites is looking to stand back up but Casados counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Leites.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leites gets caught flat footed, as Casados shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Casados trying to control the position from guard on top but Leites is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Leites tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Casados stops Leites from standing up.
Casados sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Leites's guard.
Casados is controlling the pace.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Leites pushes Casados off looking to stand but Casados dives back in and keeps control.

Casados seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Casados seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Leites does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Casados winds up and cracks Leites with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Leites is refusing to be controlled, as Casados sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Leites clinches but Casados breaks the clinch

and Casados holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Leites gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Casados.
Leites misses with a knee to the head.
Casados fails to pull guard.
Leites tries to stall but Casados uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Casados pulls guard successfully.
Casados trying to keep a closed guard but Leites is proving a slippery customer.
Leites wants to stand but Casados is controlling his posture from full guard.
Casados is trying to keep Leites in close.
Leites has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Leites has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Casados is proving hard to escape from.

Casados is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Leites looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Casados has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leites can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Leites in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Casados has a closed guard, preventing Leites from standing up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Casados is on top in guard.
Casados slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Leites tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Casados works to advance to full mount. Leites defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hector Casados showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Leites wants to clinch up but Casados keeps it at a distance.

Leites looking to throw knees to the head but Casados is blocking nicely.

Casados breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Casados forces Leites back against the cage and clinches.
Leites with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Casados wants to break free but Leites has control.

Casados gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Leites regains guard.
Leites is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Casados dives into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Leites trying to remain calm as Casados controls from the top position.

Casados is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Leites has escaped the position, nice work there.
Leites is trying to work for a sweep but Casados has mounted him!

Casados has control of Leites's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Leites regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Casados content just to control the position here.
Casados's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Leites swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Casados lands a big elbow.
Hector Casados has got the better of the ground game so far.
Leites is desperately trying to improve his position but Casados has a good base and remains in mount.

Casados working for a submission but Leites is keeping him at bay.
Leites is working to get back to half guard.
Casados looking to control but Leites is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Leites wants to try and get back to his feet.
Leites is trying to escape the mount.

Casados won't let Leites get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Leites is looking to improve his position but Casados isn't that keen on the idea.

Casados with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Casados jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Leites manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Casados is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Leites is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Leites tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Casados wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Leites sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Casados is trying to work for a kimura but Leites is defending well.
Casados tries to pass to full mount but Leites defends it.
Luiz Leites has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Casados wants to take a breather but Leites is having none of it.

Casados decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Leites tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Casados counters with a three punch combo that has Leites backing up. Leites nods at Casados to acknowledge the strikes.

Casados fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Leites, pushing him back against the cage.

Casados breaks the clinch.

Casados closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Casados lands in his opponent's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hector Casados comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Casados has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
