Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 30 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dalton Pressnell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Hagush! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pressnell misses with a combination
and Hagush counters with a nice double leg into guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hagush scoring with punches to the head and body. Pressnell wants to sweep but no luck. Pressnell can't keep his opponent in guard - Hagush advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hagush is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pressnell sees it coming and defends easily. Hagush keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hagush takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hagush has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Well, if Hagush is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Pressnell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pressnell looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hagush passes into side control.
Hagush works to advance to full mount. Pressnell defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Hagush raining down shots from the mount! Pressnell is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hagush with the ground and pound from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Hagush postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pressnell looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hagush controlling his opponent. It looks like Hagush might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Pressnell trying desperately to get to his feet.
Pressnell is looking to get to half guard. Pressnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hagush on the ground. Hagush goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pressnell is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pressnell looking to pass the guard. Hagush is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hagush striking off his back, scoring a few points. Pressnell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hagush trying to control the position here.
Ruslan Hagush has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hagush pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pressnell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hagush lands a slapping body shot.
Hagush misses with a body kick. Pressnell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hagush wants to clinch. Hagush darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hagush seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Pressnell wants to get back to full guard. Hagush looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pressnell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hagush looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ruslan Hagush dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pressnell fails in his attempt to clinch. Pressnell tries to clinch there but Hagush circles away.

Hagush shoots in and gets a takedown into Pressnell's guard. Pressnell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hagush controls the pace. Hagush decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hagush stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hagush wants it to stay on the feet. Hagush digs a good hook to Pressnell's body.
Hagush closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hagush goes for a takedown attempt but Pressnell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hagush throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pressnell wants to clinch up but Hagush keeps it at a distance. Pressnell has his takedown stuffed and Hagush counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pressnell wants to stand but Hagush is controlling the position. Hagush is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hagush stands up from guard. Let's bang! Pressnell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hagush tries to clinch but Pressnell moves out of range. Pressnell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hagush manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hagush clinches with his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hagush is looking to take this one to the mat. Hagush has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hagush tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pressnell just stands there and leans against the cage. Dalton Pressnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruslan Hagush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hagush manages to break the clinch.

Pressnell doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hagush counters with a straight right hand. Hagush throws a series of strikes that have Pressnell backpedaling.

Pressnell is rocked! Hagush has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hagush is taking a breather. Pressnell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Pressnell wants to stand back up but Hagush manages to pass into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hagush works to advance to full mount. Pressnell defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Hagush controlling his opponent. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hagush cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Pressnell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hagush controlling his opponent. Pressnell seems to have got his legs back now. Hagush unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Pressnell wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Hagush celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ruslan Hagush! Ruslan Hagush decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
