Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Meza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meza comes to the cage accompanied by Lingua de tamandua. Bob Anderson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Bob Anderson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Anderson! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meza shoots in for a double leg but Anderson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Meza closes this distance looking for a takedown but Anderson circles away. Bob Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meza has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Meza. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meza. Anderson moves in looking to clinch but Meza pushes him off. Anderson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Meza. Meza throws a head kick that Anderson semi-blocks.
Meza lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Meza swats him away and circles back towards the center. Anderson swinging wilding here.
Anderson gets caught flat footed, as Meza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Anderson looking for a sweep. Not yet Anderson, not yet. Meza is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Anderson wants to stand but Meza is controlling the position. Meza won't allow Anderson to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meza loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Anderson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Meza has passed into side control.
Anderson tries to improve position but can't. Anderson looks gassed!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Anderson doesn't manage to clinch there - Meza circles away.
Meza wants to clinch. Meza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anderson as he jumps to the side. Anderson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Anderson tightens his grip and picks Meza up, before dumping him to the ground. Meza manages to land in guard. Anderson wanted to stand there but Meza had control of the position. Meza is trying to control the position but Anderson postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meza working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Anderson. Meza is looking for a triangle but Anderson pushes his legs off easily.
Meza wants to stand up but Anderson is controlling him. Anderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Meza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Meza lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Anderson! Meza is working for a guillotine from mount but Anderson frees his head quite easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Anderson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking to get to half guard. Meza is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Anderson is forced to tap! Great finish!
