PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alphonso Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver has chosen The Game as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alphonso Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Art Carver!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd sizes up Carver with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Kidd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kidd lands strikes from half guard.
Kidd content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Carver works his way to full guard. Good work.
Carver wants to sweep here but Kidd controlling him for the moment.
Kidd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carver swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kidd stays in close to Carver's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alphonso Kidd.
Carver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kidd sprawls well. Kidd wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carver gets slowly back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kidd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kidd slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carver is on top in guard.
Kidd keeping moving, preventing Carver from controlling successfully.
Kidd thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Carver drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Carver as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Kidd screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Carver! Nice submission victory there!

Art Carver was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
