PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ragnarr Jiu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deive Pazos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deive Pazos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ragnarr Jiu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Deive Pazos!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Jiu.
Pazos misses with a low kick as Jiu jumps back.
Jiu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Pazos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jiu avoids the body shot from Pazos.
Jiu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jiu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jiu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pazos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jiu is trying to ground and pound but Pazos uses the momentary lack of control by Jiu to regain half guard.
Jiu not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jiu is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pazos throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Jiu thows a huge punch but Pazos dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jiu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Jiu not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jiu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Jiu is just content to waste time from the top position. Pazos takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jiu stands up over Pazos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jiu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pazos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jiu throws an elbow that misses. Pazos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jiu's guard. Nice move by Pazos!

Jiu will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jiu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jiu tries to get out of the position.
Pazos won't allow Jiu to sweep him here.

Jiu lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Jiu throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Jiu is looking to control Pazos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jiu avoid being mounted?

Jiu preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Jiu wants to control but Pazos is keeping busy.
Jiu controlling the position well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ragnarr Jiu dominated that round.

Ragnarr Jiu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jiu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Jiu tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Pazos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Jiu postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Pazos is breathing heavily.
Pazos takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.


Pazos is rocked!
Pazos takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Pazos is still in real trouble! Can Jiu finish him?

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jiu lands some shots froms side control.
Jiu lands a strong strike to the head of Pazos. That's dazed him! Jiu looking to finish here. Pazos is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Jiu lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ragnarr Jiu!
A relieved looking Ragnarr Jiu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
