The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dacoycoy throws out the jab. Turner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Turner is looking for a kimura but Dacoycoy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Turner to get the leverage. Dacoycoy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Turner. Turner prevents Dacoycoy from standing back up.

Turner thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Turner controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Turner landing with the ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Turner tries to free his leg and advance position but Dacoycoy is retaining full guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner throws a strike but Dacoycoy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dacoycoy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Turner's guard. Turner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dacoycoy is one step ahead there. Dacoycoy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dacoycoy wants to stand but Turner is controlling his posture from full guard. Turner pulls Dacoycoy in close to his closed guard and prevents Dacoycoy from doing any damage or advancing position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Turner misses the shot to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dacoycoy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turner. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dacoycoy is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dacoycoy closes the distance looking to clinch and Turner counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dacoycoy's guard now. Turner sitting in guard, not really doing much. Turner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Turner throws a big elbow that misses. Turner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Turner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Turner has gone for a leg lock! Dacoycoy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Turner's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner has control of Dacoycoy's left arm, preventing Dacoycoy from doing any damage. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Dacoycoy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Turner is proving hard to escape from.
Steve Turner has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Turner drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Turner looking to control but instead Dacoycoy has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Turner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Turner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Turner throws a big right hand that misses. Dacoycoy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Turner throwing strikes from guard but Dacoycoy blocks nicely. Turner content to stall in guard here. Turner postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Dacoycoy is rocked! Turner works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Dacoycoy is still in real trouble! Can Turner finish him? Dacoycoy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Turner lands a strong strike to the head of Dacoycoy. That's dazed him! Turner looking to finish here. Dacoycoy is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Turner lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Turner! Steve Turner decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
