Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Money Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Shafer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shafer has chosen Big Shit Poppin as his entrance music. Money Man has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Money Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shafer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shafer wants it to stay on the feet.
Man misses with a two punch combination.
Man fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Man feints and as Shafer raises his hands in defense, Man changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shafer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Man. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shafer is looking to escape.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Money Man wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Man defending well as Shafer loads up on a big left hand.
Man throws a series of punches but Shafer moves out of range.
Man tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shafer swivels and escapes.
Shafer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Man shoots for a takedown but Shafer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Man fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shafer avoids it really well and circles away.
Shafer shoots in but no luck this time.

Man ducks under a wild hook from Shafer.
Man doesn't manage to clinch there - Shafer circles away.
Man dives in for a single leg takedown but Shafer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Shafer.

Shafer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Man shoots for a double leg takedown but Shafer sprawls well. He's pushed Man's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Man shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shafer as he jumps to the side.
Man closes the distance and clinches up with Shafer, looking for a takedown. Man pushes Shafer against the cage but Shafer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shafer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Man fails with a takedown attempt.

Man shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shafer but Shafer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Man shoots and misses
and Shafer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Man misses with a takedown
and Shafer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Man is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Man stuffs the takedown attempt from Shafer. Shafer gets slowly back to his feet.
Man looks for a takedown but Shafer sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Man looks to land a body kick but Shafer moved away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Money Man will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Man shoots in for a double leg but Shafer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Man shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shafer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Man is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Shafer has his hands on Man's head, controlling the position.
Shafer is looking to stand up but Man isn't so interested in that idea.

Shafer seems keen to control Man's posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alex Shafer was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Man closes the distance and clinches up with Shafer, looking for a takedown. Man pushes Shafer against the cage but Shafer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shafer connects with a looping right hand.
Shafer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Man tries to avoid it but Shafer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Man to the ground. Man escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Man tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shafer defends well and Man ends up having to push Shafer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Man gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shafer.
Man drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shafer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Man is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shafer is defending well.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Shafer.

Shafer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shafer dodges the punch combination from Man.
Shafer looks to land a combination. Man sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Man shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shafer sprawls well. Shafer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Man gets slowly back to his feet.

Shafer cracks Man with a right hand to the side of the head.
Man looks for a takedown but Shafer sprawls well.

Shafer trying to keep a closed guard but Man is proving a slippery customer.

Man slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Man's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Money Man has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Shafer slaps away a takedown attempt from Man, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Shafer misses with a hook. Man ducked under it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Man closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Man lands in his opponent's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Money Man will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Man tries to bum rush Shafer with a series of wild strikes but Shafer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shafer throws a series of punches but Man avoids them all with ease.

Man throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shafer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Man is in Shafer's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Money Man overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Man, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
