Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between StuBob Ovechkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derick Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, StuBob Ovechkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derick Rose! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ovechkin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Rose keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ovechkin misses with a hook. Rose keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ovechkin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Wreckshop in the buildup to the fight. Rose uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ovechkin. Rose cracks Ovechkin with a good jab. Ovechkin looks to land a left hand but Rose moved out of range nicely. Rose misses the jab. Rose connects with a nice looking jab.
Ovechkin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A combination from Ovechkin does no damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rose looks to score with a jab to the body but Ovechkin is just out of range. A shot to the body from Rose misses and Ovechkin counters with a one-two to the body. Rose misses with a wild body shot. Ovechkin avoids the body shot from Rose.
Rose digs a good body shot into Ovechkin's ribs. Rose avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovechkin throws the left hand but Rose avoids the punch easily. Ovechkin lands a nice hook to Rose's body. Rose takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ovechkin lands the left hand. Ovechkin works the jab nicely. Ovechkin lands a nice shot to the body.
Rose throws a hook but Ovechkin blocks it. Rose with a jab. Ovechkin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rose lands with a good body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rose looks to score with a jab to the body but Ovechkin is just out of range. A big left from Rose misses. A cross from Rose lands. A combination from Ovechkin does no damage. Ovechkin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rose throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ovechkin counters with a series of strikes. Rose will be more careful next time no doubt. Ovechkin misses the jab. Oh, that's a big right hand from Rose and Ovechkin goes tumbling to the canvas! Rose follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Ovechkin is rocked! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ovechkin is trying to stand up here but Rose is controlling him well. Rose with the ground and pound but Ovechkin uses the opportunity to regain guard. Rose working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ovechkin's head. Rose controls from within his opponent's guard. Rose postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rose passes Ovechkin's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ovechkin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rose on the ground. Rose is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ovechkin defends it well. Rose has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose is working for a kimura but Ovechkin is defending it quite comfortably.
Rose seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ovechkin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ovechkin tries to kick Rose off but Rose keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rose is just content to waste time from the top position. Ovechkin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Rose throws a strike but Ovechkin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ovechkin won't allow Rose to sweep him here. Rose controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ovechkin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ovechkin trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Rose manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rose accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rose pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ovechkin is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derick Rose dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ovechkin takes a swing at Rose's ribcage but misses. Rose catches Ovechkin napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Ovechkin to the canvas!
It looks like StuBob Ovechkin has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rose showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Rose trying to control but Ovechkin is working from the bottom. My spies in BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym inform me that Rose has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Rose throws a big right hand that misses. Rose stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ovechkin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rose loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rose scoring with punches to the head and body. Rose postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rose throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rose trying to control but Ovechkin is working from the bottom. Rose sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ovechkin's guard. Rose is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rose not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rose throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rose is trying to work for a kimura but Ovechkin is defending well.
Rose lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rose uses his free foot to push down on Ovechkin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ovechkin. Rose working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Rose is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ovechkin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Rose tries to control but Ovechkin wriggling away. Ovechkin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rose.
Rose looking to control but Ovechkin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Poor strikes thrown by Rose there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Rose lands with some strikes. Rose wants to finish this one by submission but Ovechkin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rose. Rose is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ovechkin is surviving well by controlling Rose's body position as best he can. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rose lands with a right that hurts Ovechkin. Ovechkin looks to clinch but Rose throws a short knee that drops Ovechkin. This one is all over!
