Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Seamon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Seamon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mirko Silva! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Seamon wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Silva passes Seamon's left leg - he's now in half guard. Silva misses with a head shot. Seamon uses the momentum to regain guard. Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Seamon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Seamon is retaining full guard. Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seamon has Silva pulled in close to control his posture. Silva has gone for a leg lock! Seamon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard. Silva is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Seamon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Silva turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva happy to just control the position for now. Seamon struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Seamon to see if he's OK. Seamon tries to buck Silva off but Silva is having none of it. Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Seamon has escaped the position, nice work there. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva trying to control the action but Seamon is working from the bottom. Silva tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Seamon can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Seamon is looking to reverse the position. Silva wants to control but Seamon is keeping him busy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Seamon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mirko Silva dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Seamon walks into a left hand. Silva drives through with a takedown into guard. Seamon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva preventing the sweep. Silva showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva looking to pass the guard. Seamon looking for a sweep. Not yet Seamon, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mirko Silva has got the better of the ground game so far. Silva wants to control from the top but Seamon keeps moving. Seamon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Silva creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Silva is looking to take a break and control but Seamon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Silva wants to control for a moment but Seamon uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Seamon has managed to free his arm - good work. Seamon is trying to maintain the position but Silva is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Seamon is trying to stand.
Silva is looking to stall here but Seamon recovers full guard. Silva trying to control but Seamon is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Seamon's guard. Silva is trying to control. Seamon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Seamon is not content to let Silva control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mirko Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Seamon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet. Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Silva stops Seamon from getting back to his feet.
Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Seamon is holding on for dear life with his legs. Seamon avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Silva. Silva scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. BOOM! Silva connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Seamon's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Silva cracks Seamon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Silva landing punches. Seamon is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva looking to finish Seamon with some ground and pound. This is bad for Seamon! Silva landing strikes from the mount. Silva fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Seamon in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Well,Seamon is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes? Silva is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Seamon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Silva fails to take his opponent's back. Chris Seamon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Seamon is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Silva pushes Seamon off and gets back to his feet.
Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Seamon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Seamon is keeping the position for now. Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Seamon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Seamon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Seamon! Seamon tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Seamon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mirko Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Seamon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that's the end of the fight! Mirko Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
