Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rijkaard did well to prevent Slone getting side control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Slone stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rijkaard to get to his feet. Slone manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rijkaard on his heels. He'll look to pass Rijkaard's guard now, I'm sure. Slone is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Slone lands a couple of decent looking shots. Slone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Slone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rijkaard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slone has managed to get both his arms back between Rijkaard's legs - danger averted. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Slone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Slone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Slone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Slone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Slone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rijkaard works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Slone trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Slone passes into half guard. Slone in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rijkaard tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Slone!
