Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Demetrious Johnson Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Patrick Sefter!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Sefter gets double underhooks and turns Johnson Jr into the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sefter.

Sefter drags the fight down to the ground.
Johnson Jr passes into half guard.

Johnson Jr postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sefter to stand up.
Johnson Jr darts in trying to clinch

and Sefter moves into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sefter - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Sefter is trying to drag Johnson Jr to the mat but Johnson Jr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sefter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson Jr.
Sefter is struggling to control the position.

Sefter pulls guard effortlessly.
Johnson Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Sefter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Johnson Jr is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Johnson Jr trying to control but Sefter is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson Jr with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sefter keeping full guard, as Johnson Jr tries to pass.
Johnson Jr would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Johnson Jr trying to control but Sefter is working from the bottom.
Johnson Jr slips nicely into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson Jr prevents Sefter from standing back up.
Sefter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson Jr uses his free foot to push down on Sefter's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sefter.

Johnson Jr working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Sefter looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Johnson Jr! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Demetrious Johnson Jr!
