Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ahmed Babilon Mamed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sid Lawnmoer!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamed misses with a takedown attempt
and Lawnmoer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mamed won't be happy with that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lawnmoer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lawnmoer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mamed will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Mamed might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lawnmoer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mamed knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lawnmoer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mamed keeps working.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lawnmoer is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Mamed still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Mamed has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Lawnmoer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Mamed thows a huge punch but Lawnmoer dodges it nicely.
Lawnmoer is trying to maintain the position but Mamed is very close to passing his half guard.
Lawnmoer is doing well to control the position and prevent Mamed from advancing to side control.
Mamed is taking a breather. Lawnmoer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lawnmoer wants to sweep but Mamed has passed to side control!
Lawnmoer is not content to let Mamed control the position.
Lawnmoer is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lawnmoer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lawnmoer lands in his opponent's guard.
Mamed has momentary wrist control but Lawnmoer slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mamed is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lawnmoer presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Mamed wants to get back to striking at distance but Lawnmoer won't allow it.
Mamed tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lawnmoer is pressed up against the cage. Mamed has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lawnmoer down to the mat. Lawnmoer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lawnmoer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mamed.

Mamed shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawnmoer tries to sprawl out of it but Mamed keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lawnmoer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ahmed Babilon Mamed. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mamed gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lawnmoer to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lawnmoer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mamed is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mamed has escaped and now he's on top!

Mamed is fighting to break Lawnmoer's control of his arms but Lawnmoer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Mamed is in a horrible position here. Lawnmoer smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Lawnmoer connects with a bit shot that sees Mamed covering up! More strikes from Lawnmoer and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Lawnmoer is our winner by TKO!
