PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yuanjia Huo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pai Mei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuanjia Huo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pai Mei!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mei.
Huo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Huo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mei shoots for a double leg takedown but Huo sprawls well. He's pushed Mei's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yuanjia Huo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pai Mei.
Mei misses with a two punch combination.
Mei misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mei shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Huo as he jumps to the side.
Huo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mei fails with the takedown.
Huo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mei tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Huo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mei shoots for a takedown but Huo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mei shoots in and drives through. Huo sprawls well.
Huo throws a head kick that misses.
Mei has a takedown stuffed.

Mei rushes Huo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mei looks for a takedown but Huo sprawls well.
Huo lands a nice looking kick to the body. Mei takes a step back to recover.

Huo takes the fight into the clinch.
Mei wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mei is trying to break the clinch but Huo has him pressed against the cage.

A right handed body shot lands from Huo.
Huo just leaning against Mei, taking a breather.
Mei jumps guard but Huo stands there with Mei around his waist. Mei gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mei is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Huo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Mei landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Mei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mei tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Huo swivels and escapes.
Mei fails to land the takedown.

Huo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Huo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mei to his feet.

Mei is trying to control Huo's posture but Huo avoids it.
Mei wants to get back to his feet but Huo drags him back down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mei gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mei is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mei is looking to control Huo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mei avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuanjia Huo dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mei gets a takedown into half guard.

Mei seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Huo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
