1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David McLain! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jabbar has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jabbar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McLain has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. McLain drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. McLain landing with the ground and pound. McLain looking to pass the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McLain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jabbar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jabbar tries to get out of the position. McLain with a flurry of punches that miss. McLain drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jabbar dives on top into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McLain is on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McLain working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jabbar wants to stand but McLain is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McLain with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. McLain throws a strike but Jabbar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McLain has his hands on Jabbar's head, controlling the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jabbar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McLain lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jabbar! McLain looking to finish with strikes here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLain landing punches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McLain is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jabbar is surviving well by controlling McLain's body position as best he can. McLain swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jabbar is now in McLain's guard. A big mistake from McLain there, giving up the dominant position! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McLain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jabbar postures up in McLain's guard and throws a big left but McLain blocks it. Jabbar won't allow McLain to sweep him here. McLain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McLain looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McLain avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jabbar working some strikes from top position. McLain working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jabbar. McLain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jabbar is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McLain scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLain is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. McLain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jabbar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McLain connects with a couple of short punches. Jabbar looking for a sweep. Not yet Jabbar, not yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McLain is working Jabbar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. McLain wants to stand but Jabbar is controlling his posture from full guard. McLain postures up and lands a big shot to Jabbar's brow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David McLain dominated that round. That's time! Jabbar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
McLain tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jabbar swats him away and circles back towards the center. McLain gets tackled into the cage by Jabbar. Jabbar maintains the clinch. Jabbar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No joy there for Jabbar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jabbar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jabbar tries to clinch but McLain moves out of range. McLain gets a takedown into half guard. McLain tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jabbar. McLain thows a huge punch but Jabbar dodges it nicely.
Jabbar wants to improve his position but McLain is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. McLain working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jabbar's head. McLain postures up and lands a big shot to Jabbar's brow. McLain is working Jabbar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McLain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McLain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McLain working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. McLain looking to pass the guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. McLain working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jabbar's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McLain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. David McLain has got the better of the ground game so far. McLain stands and throws Jabbar's legs to the side, diving into side control. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for McLain. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. McLain throws an elbow but Jabbar slips to the side and avoids it well. Jabbar struggling a bit here. The strikes coming from McLain are missing the target in this wave of attacks. McLain cracks Jabbar with a big elbow.
Jabbar is rocked! A big shot lands for McLain! That's hurt Jabbar! Will he recover? McLain fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
