Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuuto Kawasati!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Yoshida!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawasati fails in his attempt to clinch.
Yoshi Yoshida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kawasati misses with a series of wild punches.
Yoshida tries for a takedown but Kawasati sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kawasati tries a head kick but it misses.
A good leg kick by Kawasati.
Yoshida closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kawasati circles away.
Kawasati doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yoshida decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kawasati's guard.

Yoshida drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yoshida jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Yoshida wants to pass the guard but Kawasati is keeping the position.

Kawasati looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yoshida is one step ahead there.
Kawasati is trying to keep Yoshida in close.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kawasati doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yoshida counters with a single leg into guard. Kawasati didn't expect that.
Yoshida works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kawasati tries to roll over but Yoshida keeps him under control.
Yoshida stalling away here and it's allowed Kawasati to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Kawasati is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kawasati is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Yoshida frees his head nicely. Oh but Kawasati has switched to an armbar! Yoshida is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
