PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anirudh Negi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Negi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fort Minor - Remember The Name. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Negi. Granger fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Granger or perhaps it was just good defense by Negi which made him look bad. Negi misses with the combination.
Granger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Negi's half guard. Granger is figuring out what he wants to do next. Granger passes to full mount! Negi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Granger scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Granger swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). James Granger! A relieved looking James Granger thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Anirudh Negi was interviewed post fight and said 'mothafucka!! i fucking demand a rematch.'.
