Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Carl Alexander Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Opie River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). River is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Skillet - Monster . Opie River will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Eugene Carl Alexander Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Opie River! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! River ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burns moves away. River ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. River cracks Burns with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. River fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Burns pivots, looking for a leg kick but River is out of range and Burns settles back down. Burns shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in River's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. River is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. River preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Burns throwing strikes but missing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. River looking for a sweep. Not yet River, not yet. River is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burns is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. River has his foot on Burns's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burns works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns passes into half guard. River is staying active underneath Burns, who seems content to just control the action from this position. River is trying to get back to full guard. Burns is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and River defends it well. Burns is sneakily working for an arm triangle but River sees it coming and defends easily. Burns with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. River is controlling Burns's trapped leg to prevent Burns from advancing to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. River trying to control but Burns postures up.
River gets full guard. River keeping full guard, as Burns tries to pass. Burns has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. River wants to sweep here but Burns controlling him for the moment. River is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. River has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Burns doesn't defend quickly enough and River has managed to lock this one up! Can Burns escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to River on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Opie River! Opie River decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
