Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinichi Onizuka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Aleksey Ivanov! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Onizuka shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ivanov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Onizuka is pulling down on Ivanov's head. It's preventing any offense from Ivanov, at least for the moment. Ivanov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Onizuka's guard. Onizuka trying to hold on to Ivanov's head to control him but Ivanov postures up.
Ivanov is looking for a kimura but Onizuka is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ivanov to get the leverage. Onizuka trying to control from the bottom.

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Onizuka tries to get to full guard but Ivanov has control of the leg. Ivanov wants to work for an arm triangle but Onizuka is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ivanov wants to take a breather but Onizuka manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Ivanov. Ivanov is looking to pass into half guard but Onizuka pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Onizuka is in guard.

Onizuka has left one of his arms exposed and Ivanov doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Onizuka screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
