Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Riley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Roza! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roza sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Riley somewhat. Roza swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Riley. Riley avoids the head kick by Roza.
Riley darts in looking for a takedown but Roza gets double underhooks and turns Riley into the cage. Riley tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Riley slows down the pace here.
Riley is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Roza working some nice short punches in the clinch. Roza is trying to push Riley away but Riley has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Riley wants a takedown but no success here.
Riley keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Roza's efforts to push away. Roza tries to break the clinch but Riley is controlling the position. Riley tries for a takedown. No joy.
Riley landing knees to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riley is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Riley is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Roza pulls him back up using the underhooks. Riley is breathing heavily. Roza stops a takedown attempt from Riley.
Roza breaks the clinch.
Roza takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Roza lands a big uppercut and Riley crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Riley looks OK. Roza waves Riley back to his feet!
It looks like Ethan Riley has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roza changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Roza cracks Riley with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Riley looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Roza finish him?
Riley is rocked! Riley ducks into an uppercut from Roza and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jay Roza!
