PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Uso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and WIlliam Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uso comes to the cage accompanied by Get Up. Bob has chosen I got my game on as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. WIlliam Bob is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joshua Uso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, WIlliam Bob!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uso shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bob sprawls well. Bob wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Uso gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Uso.
Uso takes one on the button.
Uso tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bob defends well and Uso ends up having to push Bob into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bob breaks the clinch.
Bob thows a left - swing and a miss!
Uso throws a big shot that misses.
Bob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Uso moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bob stuffs the takedown.

Bob ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Uso moves away.

Bob has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bob escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Uso shoots in looking for a takedown. Bob tries to sprawl out of it but Uso keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bob manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Uso misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bob throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Uso on the side of the head.
Uso shoots in and drives through. Bob sprawls well.
Uso bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bob looks to land a combination. Uso sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Bob fails to land with a series of punches.
Uso dives in and grabs Bob's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bob pushes down on Uso's head and hops out.
Uso swats away the attempt to clinch by Bob.
Bob throws a sloppy head kick and Uso moves out of range easily.
Bob looks to score with a jab to the body but Uso is just out of range.
Uso shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense.
Bob throws a right and a left that Uso avoids nicely.

Bob throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Uso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bob's waist but Bob gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Uso off to one side.
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch but Uso swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bob explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Bob scores with a jab. Uso acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Uso shoots in for a double leg but Bob sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Uso. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Bob fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Uso is out of range.
Bob tries to bum rush Uso with a series of wild strikes but Uso uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Uso shoots for a double leg takedown but Bob sprawls well. He's pushed Uso's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bob throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Uso stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bob shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Uso eats them both and turns towards Bob to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bob pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Uso back to the cage. Bob follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Joshua Uso has been cut.
Uso on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bob lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bob.

Bob is pushing Uso up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Uso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bob tries to avoid it but Uso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bob to the ground. Bob escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Uso closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Uso lands in his opponent's guard.
Bob wants to get back to his feet but Uso is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bob is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

We've been hearing that Uso has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

I would just about give that final round to WIlliam Bob.
