Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Cozad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Nervecell - Psychogenocide. Robbin Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robbin Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles Cozad! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cozad throws a wild combination but nothing lands. An inside leg kick lands from Cozad. Sloppy strikes from Cozad. Those never looked like landing. Gracie swings away with a leg kick that misses. Cozad avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cozad misses with a takedown and Gracie finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Gracie fails to land the takedown. Cozad looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cozad feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. Cozad then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Cozad motions for Gracie to come forward. Cozad throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cozad moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off. Nice jab there from Cozad. Cozad clinches up against the cage. Gracie avoiding damage as Cozad throws knees to the body.

Gracie has Cozad pressed against the cage, preventing Cozad from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie lands an elbow inside that Cozad shrugs off. Cozad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gracie rushes Cozad and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gracie tries to score a body lock takedown but Cozad shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Gracie misses with a hook from the clinch. Gracie gets control of Cozad's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gracie will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Cozad slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gracie looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cozad has picked Gracie up and slammed him! Gracie can't keep hold of the triangle and Cozad manages to pass to side control! Gracie's coaches at Academia Ipanema have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Gracie gets back to half guard. Cozad controlling the pace. Cozad wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cozad is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gracie is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cozad asserts his dominance and retains side control. Cozad is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cozad tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cozad has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie parries the strikes from Cozad easily there. Cozad is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gracie to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie looks to land a left hand but Cozad moved out of range nicely. Cozad closes the distance and clinches up with Gracie, looking for a takedown. Cozad pushes Gracie against the cage but Gracie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cozad throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gracie. Cozad tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbin Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie closes the distance but Cozad moves to the side and Cozad counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cozad throws a head kick that misses. Gracie throws a hook to the side of Cozad's head but Cozad sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cozad moves into the clinch. Cozad misses with a punch on the inside.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Cozad just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gracie's brow. Cozad pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gracie clinches with his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie misses with a hook from the clinch. Gracie tries to pull guard but Cozad won't allow it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cozad prevents the takedown attempt.
Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cozad pulls him back up using the underhooks. Cozad lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Cozad pushes Gracie back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Cozad breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cozad misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gracie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Cozad scores with a body shot.

Gracie moves to clinch but Cozad breaks away and Cozad counters with a straight right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Cozad dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cozad shoots in but no luck this time. Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cozad quickly recovers to half guard. Cozad is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie not landing any meaningful shots this time. Cozad avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie. Cozad moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gracie looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cozad trying to control the position here. Gracie throwing strikes from guard but Cozad blocks nicely. Gracie preventing the sweep.

Gracie won't allow Cozad to get back to his feet. Gracie is in close to Cozad's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gracie's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cozad is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cozad wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him. Cozad has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Charles Cozad has got the better of the ground game so far. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. Cozad is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gracie presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cozad misses with a short punch on the inside. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cozad as Gracie tries to tie him up. Cozad creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Gracie's defenses. Cozad scores with a hook to the body. Gracie can't get the takedown.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cozad escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gracie ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Cozad scores with a decent looking hook. A jab lands there for Cozad. Cozad scores with a decent looking hook. Cozad will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Cozad rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cozad stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cozad is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nice body punch from Cozad. Gracie misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cozad tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cozad feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cozad wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position. Cozad is breathing heavily. Cozad postures up.
Cozad wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cozad with a flurry of punches that miss. Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cozad gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie has a closed guard, preventing Cozad from standing up. Cozad wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action! Cozad wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Cozad wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Cozad pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cozad takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Gracie is looking for a sweep. Cozad is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Cozad showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Gracie is looking to clinch. Cozad smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Gracie wants to clinch and Cozad counters with a one-two to the body. Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cozad circles away. Gracie throws a right and a left that Cozad avoids nicely. Cozad has closed the distance and engaged Gracie in a clinch.
Cozad using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gracie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cozad comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Cozad lands a nice elbow. Cozad escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cozad throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range. Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cozad to score with a decent uppercut.
Gracie is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Cozad throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Gracie crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
